Pano Fountas is a Los Angeles-based composer, orchestrator, and pianist with an extensive portfolio of original music for feature films, advertisements, trailers, and the concert hall.
Pano has been working with orchestrator/arranger Tim Davies on a number of highly acclaimed film and TV productions and concerts. Recent projects include score programming for the upcoming thriller Holland, Michigan (starring Nicole Kidman), MIDI transcription and score preparation for the Disney+ miniseries Agatha (produced by Marvel Studios) and the Netflix series
Outer Banks, transcription and score preparation for the 2023 BBC Proms and the NY Pops 41st Birthday Gala, among others.
He has composed music for a number of independent feature films, including the crime drama Penitentia (available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime), the romance Upon Waking (Alternative Spirit Award: Rhode Island Film Festival), and the historical drama 1805 (Official Selection: Big Apple Film Festival).
Pano has collaborated with veteran producer Greg Townley on several trailer music albums for Fight or Flight Music, a Los Angeles-based trailer house wth placements in blockbusters. He has also composed commercial music tracks for award-winning production house Found Objects, one of which was used in the Miller Lite campaign video for Women's History Month in 2023.
Later that year, he assisted composer Greg Pliska with music preparation for the Broadway show Summer, 1976 featuring Laura Linney and Jessica Hecht. He also served as a mock-up artist for the Off-Broadway show The Alchemist and collaborated with composer Mark Suozzo on an episode of PBS’s American Experience, the most-watched historical series on television. His concert music has been performed in venues, such as the Athens Concert Hall, where his recent commission, Sinfonietta for Strings, premiered in May 2022.
Throughout his career, Pano has received numerous awards, including the prestigious NYU Alan Menken Scholarship, awarded by eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken. He was also a winner of the ASMAC Chamber Music Competition and Pat Williams Competition, and received the Friends of Music Society Scholarship in memory of internationally acclaimed composer and Herder prize winner Theodore Antoniou.
Pano holds a MMus in Screen Scoring from New York University Steinhardt and a BMus with Distinction in Classical Piano Performance from the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow.
